Policies and Statement of Faith
Placeholder for Dr. Ping to complete. This page must be finished before enrollment opens. Edit pages/policies.html; when the wording changes, also update the consent version in public/js/apply.js (CONSENT_VERSION) so each family's record shows which text they accepted.
Statement of faith
Suggested note: whether families must share this statement, or only acknowledge that the courses are taught from this perspective.
Terms of enrollment
- Poema Academy is free and is not accredited. It supplements the education parents provide; parents remain responsible for their children's schooling and for meeting any local legal requirements.
- Courses are taught by AI tutors working from the course texts, under the supervision of Poema Academy's director. AI tutors can make mistakes; students should check their reasoning against the text.
- Accounts are for the enrolled family only. Students should not share their login.
- We may pause an account that is misused, and daily usage limits apply to keep the program free.
- [Further terms to be added by Poema Institute.]
Student conduct and safety
- Tutor conversations are saved. Parents and Poema staff can read every conversation.
- Messages are screened automatically. Inappropriate messages are refused and flagged for review. If a message suggests a child may be at risk, the parent and Poema staff are alerted.
- Students should never share personal details (full name, address, phone, email, social media, photos) with the tutor.
Parental consent
By applying, the parent or legal guardian consents to Poema Academy collecting the limited information described in the privacy notice about each child (first name, age, grade, learning progress and tutor conversations) in order to provide the courses, and to the child's use of the AI tutors. A parent may withdraw consent and ask us to delete the family's data at any time.
